We are committed to innovating and delivering cutting-edge technologies that enable our customers to make discoveries that improve the quality of life.ROLE: Solution Architect Commercial / Enterprise domain ROLE SUMMARYPerkinElmer is seeking an experienced Solution Architect, who takes the lead in designing technology solutions that meet business needs, particularly in areas for the Enterprise (HR, Financial, Legal, et cetera) and Commercial applications (sales, marketing, customer relationship management (CRM), e-commerce, etc). Whereby these solutions also remain scalable, secure, and aligned with the (target) enterprise architecture. The role will be in Pune, India, and reports into the Director-IT for Commercial Apps. (Must be able to work during US time zone EST or CST).KEY RESPONSIBILITIESAssesses the current and planned implementations to develop short and long term architectural roadmaps for Commercial / Enterprise domain to meet business requirements. Deliverables here include: otechnology inventory assessment for commerce domainogap analysis for business operationsoTSA exit technologies short term roadmapoone-to-three year technology roadmap with identified business goals/objectivesothree-to-five year solution recommendation roadmap.Design and define (current / transformation / target) solution architectures that align with business objectives and are in line with the (target) enterprise architecture, in line with PerkinElmer security architecture and policiesEvaluate and recommend appropriate technologies, platforms, and tools to meet the needs form the business.Ensure seamless integration of the applications with existing systems and third-party solutions (e.g., payment gateways, marketing automation tools, et cetera).Define the architecture for APIs, microservices, or middleware required to integrate the various applications and third-party systems.Act as the primary technical advisor, guiding the development teams, software engineers, and other IT staff in implementing the selected solutions.Support and mentor the relevant stakeholders in adopting best practices, patterns, and coding standards that align with the architectural design.Assess and recommend third-party tools or SaaS platforms that can enhance the business capabilities within enterprise and commercial (e.g. shipping solutions, marketing platforms).Work closely with project managers, application owners and product owners to ensure the technical roadmap aligns with project timelines and business priorities.Keep track of new trends and emerging technologies (e.g., AI, machine learning, predictive analytics) that could benefit business operationsWork with the other members of the Architecture Team to arrive at a cohesive target architecture that contributes to the achievement of the business objectives.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSTOGAF certification or equivalentArchiMate certification or equivalent Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred 5+ years of experience in IT, software development, or enterprise architecture3+ years of experience in a solution architecture role, preferably in the enterprise and/or commercial domainsHands-on mentalityExperience in designing and implementing microservices-based architecture, APIs, and cloud architectures is desirableExperience with modern software development practices (e.g., DevOps, CI/CD, Agile methodologies)is desirableExperience working with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and cloud-native architecture is desirableUnderstand data integrations between various enterprise applications (e.g. SAP)Experience with JIRA Projects is desirable.
